TRS Custom Drums have taken the art of drum design one step further with the addition of the Savant Series Snare drums and Drum kits.
The Savant Series drum is basically any custom TRS Custom Drum shell that has been painstakingly handcrafted with a beautiful inlay in each shell.
These can include our own Custom Craft Vertical Grain Maple/Mahogany Shell, our ‘A’ Grade Studio Maple shell, our Vintage Mahogany/Poplar/Mahogany shell, or even our Custom Exotic Series or our 25th Anniversary Shells.
Each drum shell is completely hand crafted for the discerning drummer, and goes through a complete custom finishing process to ensure the quality of the inlays and the integrity of the shell.
Once each inlay is in place, each shell is specially sealed with a custom sealer to ensure that the shell is ready to be stained, shaded, and finished in your choice of a true Gloss or Satin Lacquer. This custom sealer prevents the shell from drying out, and helps to maintain proper shell moisture for faithful tone and longevity.
All drum shells undergo our stringent standard 5 Step Internal Sealing Process that utilizes special oil sealers, wood hardeners, and specific lacquers to preserve and protect the wood.
You can specify your ‘SRF’ (Shell Resonance Factor) by choosing from just the oil sealers (0), to our standard warm and fat satin sealers (1), to a high gloss resonant lacquer (2), changing the intensity and tone of the drums response.
Each and every ‘Savant Series’ shell receives a hand polished finish, in a natural or burst, hand rubbed satin or gloss finish of your choice.
