TRS Custom Drums have taken the art of drum design one step further with the addition of the Savant Series snare drums.

Each snare drum has been truly completely custom crafted for the discerning drummer. These drums can start off life as a Kellar Maple VSS Maple shel, a Keller Vintage Mahogany shell, one of our own custom Exotic Bubinga (African Rosewood) shells, or our Stave shells, or one of our one ply Steam Bent Maple shells… but from there, things change quickly!

The basic shell is then equipped with 10 ply Maple reinforcement hoops, your choice of braided inlays, 35° bearing edges, and a special two stage snare bed designed specifically for each type of snare shell.

Each shell is then treated with a special oil sealer and satin lacquer to preserve and protect the wood.

You can specify your ‘SRF’ (Shell Resonance Factor) by choosing from just the oil sealers to a high gloss lacquer, changing the intensity of the drums response.

The shell is completed with a hand rubbed satin finish, in a natural or burst, satin or gloss, finish of your choice.

And add to that a premium line hardware and strainer and the Savant Series offers the drummer a quality hand made work of art… one that will instantly become a classic in your collection.

Classic Maple Shell – 10 ply with no reinforcement hoop.

Custom Craft Shell – 6 ply with 6 ply reinforcement hoops. 8 ply with 8 ply reinforcement hoops. 10 ply with 10 ply reinforcement hoops.

Bubinga Shell (African Rosewood) – 9 ply with 10 ply Maple reinforcement hoops.
