TRS Custom Drums offers the professional drummer a truly classic snare drum. The ‘Studio Series’ snare drums are custom crafted snares utilizing proven drum shells and manufacturing techniques giving you that true classic Maple experience. All Studio Series snare drums are constructed using the Keller VSS classic 10 ply Maple drum shell.

Our Custom Craft shells consist of 6/6, 8/8, or 10/10 hoop/shell configurations, building the sound and texture from warm and fat to big and full bodied snares with tons of crack and attack. All these features combined with beautiful finishes, build an amazing sounding snare drum that draws out all the focus and warmth and is ready to record.

Snare drum bearing edges and snare beds get extra attention. They are designed to bring out the sensitivity and projection of each drum depending on the shell make up and construction.

They are precision cut to a precise 35 ° angle with a rounded outside edge for maximum marriage between the heal and shell, thus creating more tone. They are then hand sanded, checked, finished, and waxed. The actual specs of the drum head marriage and shape will depend on the shell thickness, reinforcement hoops, and number of plies.

These edges can be changed to suit your needs and sound styles. The drum can be made drier, rounder, fatter, or crisper by changing the edge shape, depth, and width of the snare bed, the amount of snare drum ventilation, and type of snare wires and shell hardware.

These ‘Studio Series’ snare drums will be the backbone of your sound. Beautiful and warm, dry and fat, big and bright. Classic!

Lugs – Standard lug in full or split configurations

Hoops – 2.3mm Triple Flanged. Optional Heavy Duty Die Cast. Optional Custom Wood Hoops.
